Gameplay and features

The campaign features a variety of missions set in different locations, and developers have added diversity through vehicle-based missions and dynamic sequences (such as escaping from a helicopter). Players can select their gear, with moments of perceived freedom, though the gameplay remains mostly linear and scripted. The only tactical element is a basic command system to direct your squad’s attacks.

Co-op mode is absent in “Battlefield 4” due to its underperformance in previous games. Developers chose instead to focus on a well-crafted single-player campaign and a highly engaging multiplayer experience.

Players can choose between three factions: the U.S., Russia, or China, and select from four classes assault, engineer, recon, or support. Engineers are equipped with rocket launchers and mines, making them vital for battles involving enemy vehicles, which range from helicopters and planes to tanks, armored cars, and boats. Players can also customize these vehicles with weapons and camouflage.
